When it comes to whether things in the world go well or not, a good result can be obtained and that result can change not according to the influence of spirits who are in contact with humans, but according to how accurately the human consciousness understands things of the world and how well they then act.

If there was a religious teaching which is able to bless human beings among today’s religions or among the spirits then, by now at least, that teaching must have been revealed in human society.

And people who contact spirits and who advocate spirits would have to show the sure proof that the spirits words are the same as what happens in reality and they would have to say the information which is needed by human society and the teaching which is needed for human life.

Things that sound nice, a story that isn’t there and words that can’t be verified are of no help to people in the human world who are trying to persue a true way of life and who want to achieve their hopes.

A good teaching makes you know the process which makes a good or bad result come into being by revealing the truth of what is happening. But we are without good teaching in human society and this point is of great concern to human’s lives.

세상의 일들이 잘되고 잘못되는 것은 인간과 접한 신들의 영향에 의한 것이 아니라 인간들의 의식이 세상의 일들을 얼마나 정확하게 이해하고 잘 행하느냐에 따라서 좋은 성과를 얻을 수도 있고 그 결과가 다를 수도 있는 것이다.

오늘날의 종교들이나 신들 속에 인간을 축복할 수 있는 종교적인 가르침을 가지고 있다면 지금이라도 인간 사회에 그 가르침을 밝혀야 한다.

그리고 신을 접하고 신을 내세우는 사람들은 신의 말들이 현실의 일들과 같다는 확실한 증거를 보여야 할 것이며, 인간 사회에 필요한 정보나 인간의 삶을 위해 필요한 가르침을 말해야 한다.

그럴 듯한 말과 듣기 좋은 소리, 있지도 않는 이야기와 확인할 수 없는 말들은 인간 세계에서 소망을 이루고자 하는 사람들이 추구하는 참된 삶의 길에 아무런 도움이 되지 못할 것이다.

좋은 가르침이란 있는 일의 진실을 밝혀서 좋고 나쁜 결과를 있게 하는 과정을 알게 하는 것이다. 그러나 인간 사회에는 좋은 가르침을 가지고 있지 못하고 있으며 이러한 점은 인간들의 삶에 매우 우려되는 일이다.

I’ve been trying to translate something for several weeks but due to various difficulties I wasn’t able to do so. Sometimes the translation was too difficult.

This is my translation of part of an article called ‘Karma ‘, written by Tathagata and published in August 1998. I believe it to be true to the original as far as i understood it.
Any mistakes are mine in translation.

Karma is being made by what has happened inside yourself.  Therefore it’s really important to understand how what has taken place inside yourself causes this thing to be made. This means that what you have done comes to be imputed inside your consciousness.

At this point we can’t help but take a detailed look at nature.

Every phenomena which is appearing in nature is inputting everything that has taken place inside itself into it’s fruit.

Human beings have a consciousness. Everything that human beings do gets imputed into their consciousness.  This consciousness plays the role of a soul and when this soul comes to be in the state of death, through separation with the body it exists as it’s inherent self.

When the consciousness that was in this soul disappears the soul is born as a new life. Although the consciousness disappears,  it doesn’t mean that everything that happened to itself in the past disappears. The consciousness has disappeared but everything that was inside it remains there latent.

So this complex of things which took place inside yourself that lie latent inside yourself continously cause a reaction to take place. So karma is the thing which forever reapeatedly maintains  the things which took place inside yourself, it’s the habit of karma.

There are only two meanings which make everything that happen in the world exist.  The world exists according to these two meanings.

One is the Law of Cause and Effect. The phenomena which becomes better or becomes worse appears according to this Law of Cause and Effect.

The other is reincarnation. Reincarnation means everything is being repeated. This phenomena comes to be through what exists’ creation of the continous phenomena of repetition. The past, present and future are repeating endlessly.

Our life also exists according to this law and everything is continuously repeating its birth and death according to the Law of Cause and Effect.

Once something has appeared in the world it doesn’t just disappear of its own accord, it continuously tries to make itself exist. Because what is happening inside us has the same meaning, once it has been imputed it doesn’t disappear but keeps receiving influence and acting.

The present life and future life change according to what kind of thing comes to exist inside yourself. Then the things which will take place inside yourself forever change. 

Therefore the thing which people have to be most careful of is making ‘in-yeon’ (relationship). If you make a relationship with something bad then something bad happens and if you make a relationship with something good then something good happens. This is also the Law of Cause and Effect.

‘Karma’ exist according to cause and effect. As long as this karma exists, people cannot escape from its control.

No matter how well they want to live or how well they want to do good things, the things that people with big karma do even ruin other people never mind make themselves become good, and the things they do to make themselves become good always give themselves trouble.

That’s because there needs to be a good origin inside themselves and because they are without a good origin it’s very rare for something good to happen to them. At this time, the only thing that can have any effect on them  is enlightenment. Without enlightenment, in certain cases they cannot disobey the command of the karma which is inside themselves.

This phenomena can easily be seen in our surroundings and it’s such an important thing in a humans life. So without enlightenment nobody can escape that kind of thing.

The law of nature is strict. In the same way that 2+2 cannot be 1 or 5 in mathematics, the things which happen in truth cannot change. I can say that they can never be changed. That’s why i say that during our lifetime the most important thing is enlightenment.

이 업이란 자신 속에 있던 일이 만들어내고 있는 것이다. 그렇다면 자기 속에 있던 일이 어떻게 이런 일을 만들어내는가에 대한 이해가 매우 중요하다. 이것은 자기가 한 일이 자신의 의식 속에 입력이 되어지는 것을 말한다.

이제 우리는 여기서 자연을 보다 세밀히 살펴보지 않을 수 없다.

자연 속에서 나타나고 있는 모든 현상은 자신 속에 있던 일을 자신의 열매 속에 전부 입력시키고 있다.

인간은 의식을 가진 하나의 주체이다. 인간은 자기가 한 일을 의식 속에 전부 입력시키게 된다. 그리고 이 의식은 영체 구실을 하고 이 영체가 죽음에 임하게 되면 인체와 분리됨으로써 독자적인 자기를 존재하게 하고 있다.

이 영체 속에 있던 의식이 사라지면 영체는 곧 새 생명으로 태어나게 된다. 그러나 의식이 사라졌다고 해서 과거에 자기에게 있었던 일이 없어지는 것은 아니다. 의식은 사라졌지만 그 속에는 자기 속에 있었던 것이 그대로 잠재해 있다.

그래서 자기 속에 잠재해 있는 이 복합된 일들이 계속해서 하나의 반응을 일으키게 된다. 그리하여 영원히 자신 속에 있었던 일을 반복해서 지키려 하는 것이 업이며 업의 습성이다.

세상의 모든 일을 존재하게 하는 뜻은 단 두 가지가 있다. 세상은 이 두 가지의 뜻에 의하여 존재하게 된다.

하나는 인과의 법이다. 좋아지고 나빠지는 현상은 이 인과의 법에 의해서 나타나게 되어 있다.

또 하나는 윤회이다. 윤회라는 것은 모든 것이 반복하고 있다는 것이다. 있는 것은 계속적인 반복현상을 일으키므로 해서 이런 현상이 있게 된다. 과거와 현재와 미래가 끝없이 돌고 있는 것이다.

그래서 우리의 생명도 이 법칙에 의해서 존재하고, 모든 만물이 인과의 법에 의해서 나고 죽기를 계속 반복하고 있다는 것이다.

한번 세상에 난 것은 스스로 소멸되지 않고 계속 자신을 존재시키려고 노력한다. 우리 속에 있는 일도 그런 뜻을 가지고 있기 때문에 한 번 입력이 되면 없어지는 것이 아니고 계속 그 영향을 받아 활동을 하게 된다는 것이다.

어떠한 일을 자기 속에 존재하게 했는가에 따라서 현세가 다르고 내세가 다르다. 그래서 영원히 있게 될 자신 속의 일들이 다르게 되는 것이다.

그래서 사람이 가장 조심해야 할 일은 바로 인연을 짓는 일이다. 사람이 나쁜 것과 인연을 지으면 거기에서 나쁜 것이 생기게 되고, 좋은 것과 인연을 지으면 좋은 것이 생기게 된다. 이것 또한 인과의 법이다.

‘업’은 바로 인과에 의해서 자기에게 존재하게 되어 있다. 이 업이 존재하는 한, 사람은 업의 지배로부터 벗어날 수가 없다.

자신이 아무리 잘 살고, 아무리 좋은 일을 하려고 해도 업이 큰 사람이 하는 일은 자신이 좋아지기는커녕 남까지 망치게 되고, 자신이 좋아지려고 하는 일이 항상 자기 자신을 괴롭히게 된다.

그것은 자기 속에 좋은 근원이 있어야 하는데 자기 속에 그런 좋은 근원이 없으니, 자기에게 좋은 일이 나타나는 일은 매우 드물다.

이럴 때에는 깨달음만이 자기에게 영향을 줄 수 있는 것이다. 깨달음이 없이는 어떤 경우에도 자기 속에 있는 업의 지시를 거역할 수 없다.

이런 현상은 우리주위에서 얼마든지 볼 수가 있으며, 이것은 인간의 삶에 매우 중요하다. 그러니까 깨달음이 없이는 누구도 이런 일에서 벗어날 수가 없는 것이다.

자연의 법은 엄격하다. 수학에서 2+2가 1이나 5가 될 수 없듯이 진리에서도 있는 일은 불변한다. 절대로 바뀌지 않는다고 할 수 있다. 그래서 우리가 한 평생을 살아가는데 있어서 가장 중요한 것은 깨달음이라고 말하는 것이다.

The best teaching and the best education for human beings is revealing truth.

Why doesn’t anybody know a simple thing like this in Korean universities or in so many foreign universities?
It’s not known because there isn’t anybody teaching truth.
From now on, anybody is able to learn things which nobody was able to learn until now.
People obtain their own way through life.
What kind of life is the greatest life?
It’s living without harming others and without lying.
Not lying and not giving harm to others, and teaching those things to others so that everybody comes to live more and more diligently, frugally and honestly is the way that will make our society heaven.

When we correctly know ‘what is’ and endeavour to teach the things we know to others, this itself is the way to brighten the world and the way to build heaven.

인간에게

가장 좋은 가르침은, 가장 좋은 교육은,

진실을 밝히는 것이다.

이렇게 쉬운 것을, 왜 한국의 대학이나 외국의 수많은 대학에서는 아무도 몰랐는가?

진실을 가르쳐 주는 사람이 없었기 때문에 몰랐던 것이다.

지금까지 아무도 배울 수 없었던 것을 이제부터는 누구라도 배울 수 있다.

사람은 삶을 통해서 자신의 길을 얻게 되는 것이다.

어떤 삶이 가장 훌륭한 삶인가?

다른 사람에게 피해가 되지 않고, 거짓말하지 않고 사는 것이다.

거짓말을 하지 않고, 남에게 피해를 주지 않는 생활을 하고, 그리고 그런 일을 사람들에게 가르쳐서 모든 사람들이 점점 근면하고, 검소하고, 정직하게 살게 된다면 우리 사회는 천국이 될 것이다.

있는 일을 바르게 알고 자기가 아는 것을 남에게 가르치려고 노력한다면 바로 이것이 세상을 밝히는 길이고 천국을 만드는 길이다.

First, ”To achieve Enlightenment you must first be free from lies.” That is, truth must appear. Having to get rid of lies to achieve Enlightenment means having to open your eyes to truth.

Second, ”You have to see ‘what is’ ” Where is right and wrong?

Right and wrong don’t exist in words, they are appearing through ‘what is’. When a good thing occurs its a good thing and when a bad thing occurs it’s a bad thing.

No matter how good we say something is, if we don’t know ‘what is’ it’s difficult to make something good happen. So you have to see what is. You have to know how ‘what is’ comes to be. You have to know how the law of cause and effect is making ‘what is’ better or worse. You have to know the meaning inside it.

Third, ”There must be conscience and courage.”

I constantly emphasize that there is nothing as difficult or as lonely as revealing ‘what is’ in the world. The lives of the saints in the past was like that and we can also see that in our society there were many people with the correct way of thinking who tried to make the world better who were like that.

If you want to make the world better you have to teach ‘what is’ but those who tried to teach ‘what is’ properly were all abandoned in the world. So it means that if there is no conscience and courage, no matter how much they have opened their eyes to ‘what is’, they can’t do anything about it.

Fourthly, ”There has to be endless love inside oneself”

There has to be endless love to go to others and teach them. There has to be conscience and courage to endlessly want to go to others and teach them. It won’t happen if either one of these two are absent.

첫째, “깨달음을 얻기 위해서는 먼저 거짓이 없어져야 한다.” 즉 진실이 나타나야 된다는 것이다. 깨달음을 얻기 위해서 거짓이 없어져야 된다는 것은 진실에 대해서 눈을 떠야 한다는 말이다.

둘째, “있는 일을 보아야 한다.” 옳고 그름이라는 것은 어디에 있는가?

옳고 그름이라는 것은 말 속에 존재하는 것이 아니고 있는 일을 통해서 나타나게 되어 있다. 옳은 결과가 나타나면 그것은 옳은 일이고 나쁜 결과가 나타날 때 그것은 나쁜 일이다.

우리가 아무리 좋다고 하더라도 있는 일을 모르면 좋은 일을 만들어 내기가 어렵다. 그래서 있는 일을 보아야 한다. 있는 일이 어떻게 해서 있는가를 알아야 한다. 어떻게 해서 있는 일이 좋아지고 나빠지는가 하는 인과의 법을 알아야 한다. 그 속에 있는 뜻을 알아야 한다.

셋째, “양심과 용기가 있어야 한다.”

세상에서 있는 일을 밝히는 것처럼 힘들고 외로운 일이 없다고 반복 강조했다. 과거의 성자들의 삶이 그랬고, 또 우리의 역사 속에 올바른 사고를 가지고 세상을 좋게 만들려고 노력했던 많은 사람들이 모두 그러했다.

세상을 좋게 만들려면 있는 일을 가르쳐야 하는데 그 있는 일을 제대로 가르치려 했던 사람들은 모두 세상에서 버림을 받았다. 그러니까 양심과 용기가 없다면 있는 일에 아무리 눈을 떠도 그 일을 할 수 없다는 뜻이 된다.

넷째, “끝없는 사랑이 자신 속에 있어야 한다.”

끝없는 사랑이 있어야 남에게 가서 가르치려 할 것이다. 용기와 양심이 있어야 옳은 일을 남에게 끝없이 가르치려 할 것이다. 이 두 가지 중에 하나가 없어도 안 된다.

The reason we can’t find good people is because there isn’t good teaching,
and the reason we can’t find a good world is because there aren’t good people.

In the world there is a way,
If you know, you will find a good way,
If you don’t know, you will lose the good way

People have wanted Enlightenment since ancient times
to see things of the world

If you hear my words and come to know them
you will avoid the hell that has been inside you and you will get a bright future way.

If there is something you want, come here and ask about it
If you listen and have something you’ve heard, take it with you and confirm.

If so, you will easily get what you want through yourself.

나고 죽는 모든 것들은 자신에게 있던 인연을 따라서 돌고 도니
이것이 있어서 저것이 있게 되고
저것이 있어서 이것이 있게 된다.

좋은 사람을 만날 수 없던 것은 좋은 가르침이 없었기 때문이요.
좋은 세상을 만날 수 없는 것은 좋은 사람이 없기 때문이다.

세상에는 길이 있으니
알면 좋은 길을 얻게 되고
모르면 좋은 길을 버리게 된다.

옛부터 사람들이 깨달음을 원해온 것은
세상의 일을 보기 위해서이니

곧 내 말을 듣고 알게 되면
자신 속에 있던 지옥을 피하고 밝은 앞길을 얻게 될 것이다.

그러므로 이제 그대들이 이러한 일들이 어떻게 있게 되는가 하는 이런 일에 대하여 관찰과 노력이 무엇보다도 필요한 것이다.

원하는 것이 있으면 이곳에서 묻고
들으면 들은 것이 있으면 가지고 가서 확인해 보아라

그러면 능히 원하는 것들이 자신을 통하여 얻게 될 것이다.

Q: You said that to become Enlightened you first have to  get rid of lies.  Please give the definition of lies.

A: To help your understanding I’ll ask a question. 1+1=3.

Is that wrong? Or is it right? If it’s wrong, it’s a lie.

“If you pray to Buddha all misfortune will be kept away, you will be free from unhappiness and the home will become harmonious.”

Are these words right? Or are they wrong? If they are wrong then they are a lie.

“If you believe in God you will recieve salvation. You will go to heaven. You will live without worries and you will live peacefully and happily.”

Are these words right? Or are they wrong? If they aren’t right then they are a lie.

Words which aren’t correct are lies.

Why do I say you have to be free from lies?

When people say things that they don’t know well,  it can easily become a lie. Because somebody not knowing ‘what is’ and saying their thinking can easily be wrong, it can easily become a lie so we had better not speak carelessly. Somebody should only say what they clearly know.

When I say things that don’t damage other people, my mind is always honourable and bright. When the mind is bright ‘what is’ is well seen.

So amongst the requirements for Enlightenment, the first one is to get rid of lies.

Don’t say wrong things which are different from the facts.  Don’t go around hearing things from others and seeing things in books and piling them up in your head as if you know them.

Because somebody goes around and puts words which they can’t know into their heads and they say things which they can’t know to others, ‘what is’ isn’t seen properly.

That’s why I say ‘get rid of lies’

왜 거짓을 버리라고 하겠습니까?

자기도 잘 모르고 하는 말은 거짓말이 되기 쉽습니다. 있는 일을 모르면서 자기 생각을 말하는 것은 틀리기 쉽고 그러면 거짓말이 되기 쉬우니까 함부로 말하지 말라는 것입니다. 자기가 분명히 아는 것만 말해야 합니다.

내가 남에게 피해가 되지 않는 말을 하면 항상 내 마음이 떳떳하고 밝습니다. 마음이 밝으니까 있는 일이 잘 보이게 됩니다.

그래서 깨달음의 조건 중에서 첫째가 거짓을 버리는 일입니다.

사실과 다른 틀린 말을 하지 말아라, 남으로부터 듣고 책에서 본 것을 가지고 아는 것처럼 머리에 쌓아놓고 다니지 말아라 는 것입니다.

자기도 알지 못하는 말을 머리에 담고 다니면서 남에게 자기도 알지 못하는 말을 하기 때문에 있는 일이 제대로 보이지 않는 것입니다.

그렇기 때문에 거짓을 버려라 고 하는 것입니다.

What Must People Learn While They Live?

Before getting Enlightenment, the thing people must learn is love.

And in order to learn that love, they have to learn justice.

Trying to love others without knowing ‘what is’ can bring about a dangerous result if done wrong. It’s because it can make the phenomena that gives us the result that’s like waiting to be deceived by others.

We can bless ‘what is’ only when we know ‘what is’.  If we don’t know ‘what is’ exactly, how are we able to bless about ‘what is’?

Before we get Enlightenment, the greatest study we have to know is love. This love is blessing.

Our purpose of living, is living to bless ourselves and to bless others.

If you ask why we have to love others we can answer like this.

To fertilize soil is certainly not a bad thing. When i fertilize the soil and make it good, that soil will obviously present me with good fruit.

It’s because by my awaking and then blessing others and  making the environment good in the society I live in, that love becomes love again and returns to myself.

By blessing others we become blessed ourselves. If we bless the soil, the soil gives us good fruit.

Getting a good mind is the way to make myself become better.

But no matter how much of a good mind I might have or how much I want to do a good thing, if it doesn’t make a good result in the end, it ends up becoming one-sided love.

You start out trying to bless others but end up deceived by it. When we do something in the world this is something which should be considered a very important fact.

질문 : 사람은 살면서 무엇을 배워야 합니까?

답변 : 깨달음을 얻기 전에 배워야 할 것은 사랑이다.

그리고 그 사랑을 배우기 위해서는 정의를 배워야 한다.

있는 일을 모르고 남을 사랑한다는 것은 잘못하면 위험한 결과를 초래할 수도 있다. 남이 나를 속여주기를 기다리는 것과 같은 현상을 가져다 주는 결과를 만들 수 있기 때문이다.

있는 일을 알 때만이 우리는 있는 일을 축복할 수 있다. 우리가 있는 일을 정확하게 모르는 속에서 어떻게 있는 일에 대해서 축복할 수 있겠는가?

깨달음을 얻기 전에 우리가 알아야 할 가장 큰 공부는 사랑이고, 이 사랑은 바로 축복이다.

우리가 사는 목적은 자신을 축복하고 남을 축복하기 위해서 사는 것이다.

왜 남을 사랑해야 하는가 하고 묻는다면 이렇게 대답할 수 있다.

땅에 거름을 주는 것은 절대 나쁜 일이 아니다. 내가 그 땅에 거름을 주고 좋은 땅을 만들었을 때 그 땅은 분명히 나에게 좋은 열매를 선사할 것이다.

내가 자신을 깨우치고 남을 축복하는 것은 내가 살아가는 사회의 환경을 좋게 만들므로 해서 그 사랑이 다시 사랑이 되어서 내게로 돌아올 것이기 때문이다.

우리가 남을 축복하므로 해서 우리 자신이 축복 받게 된다. 땅을 축복하면 그 땅은 우리에게 좋은 열매를 준다.

내가 좋은 마음을 갖는다는 것은 내 자신을 좋게 만드는 길이다.

그러나 아무리 좋은 마음을 가지고 있다 하더라도 또 좋은 일을 하고 싶어도 좋은 결과를 만들어 내지 못한다면 그 일은 짝사랑이 되고 말 것이다.

상대를 축복하려 하다가 결국 자신이 그 일에 속게 된다는 것이다. 우리가 하나의 세상의 일을 하게 될 때 이러한 일은 매우 중요하게 고려되어야 할 사항이다.

Speech and behavior can become the cause of all phenomena. The speech and behavior that was inside oneself becomes a very important basis of the actions of one’s consciousness.

Speech and behavior can make karma, can make grudge and can also make virtue.

When one says something wrong they can cement bad feeling and that bad feeling can make what causes a grudge to be made inside one and something that I do once can become something that causes me suffering. Also, something I say can cause others to make karma.

But something I say can also give others courage, and if an enlightenment is given  so  it makes another person  live well and makes them obtain a blessing, then that becomes love. If my behavior saves difficult people, that becomes light.

Always, we shouldn’t speak without seeing ’what is’. We have to see ‘what is’ and say the answer which matches it.

In certain circumstances, something said can cause a great catastrophe, can make karma, can bring big discord. And behavior is just the same.

말과 행동이 모든 현상의 원인이 될 수 있습니다. 내 속에 있던 말과 행동이 내 의식작용에 매우 중요한 근본이 되는 것입니다.

그리고 말과 행동이 업을 만들고 한을 짓고 그리고 공덕을 만들게 됩니다.

내가 말 한마디를 잘못할 때 시비를 유발하게 되고, 그 시비가 내 속에 한을 짓는 일을 만들어낼 수 있으며 나의 일시적인 행동이 자신을 괴롭히는 일이 될 수도 있습니다. 또 말 한마디가 남에게 업을 짓도록 할 수도 있습니다.

그러나 말 한마디가 다른 사람에게 용기를 주고 하나의 깨달음을 주어서 다른 사람을 잘 살게 하고 축복을 받게 했다면 그것은 사랑이 되는 것입니다. 나의 행동이 어려운 사람을 구했다면 그것은 빛이 되는 것입니다.

항상 우리는 있는 일을 보지 않고 말해서는 안 됩니다. 우리는 있는 일을 보고 거기에 맞는 답을 말해야 합니다.

하나의 말이 어떤 경우에는 엄청난 재앙을 만들 수도 있고, 업을 지을 수도 있고, 엄청난 갈등을 가져올 수도 있는 것이며 행동도 이와 마찬가지입니다.

Q: What is the most frightful thing in the world?

A: Lies.

People have fallen into the words made by others.

In some cases there is speech where the living are deceived by the dead due to the activity of spirits.

The most frightful thing that we can see happening in the world is that people aren’t trying to know the truth of the problems inside themselves or the world.

In today’s world, lies are overtaking truth.

Q: Why do you say that ordinary people have to enlighten?

A: Because of their life. Their life is what makes their selves exist.

Saying they have to enlighten means they have to open the eye of their consciousness. Saying ‘open their eye’ means recongnizing how a certain matter makes ’what is’ come into being, and it’s knowing how that matter makes a result through a particular process. Complete Enlightenment is opening one’s eyes.

If the eyes open, living becomes different. You can feel that you have become simple. It’s the difference between when you have all sorts of thinking popping up and when you live without much thinking. Without too much thinking you make few mistakes, and if you don’t make mistakes you don’t resent others.

Thinking or fantasy are of no great help to life.

What do you do so you can be free from all kinds of useless thinking? What do you do so you are able to change into a simple person? When you listen eagerly to the Enlightened Being’s teaching and you come to know the fact that you don’t know anything, and you listen, see and try to know more keenly, you open your eyes to ‘what is’.

It’s coming to know if ‘what is’ or what you have done is a right thing or a wrong thing. Because you know obviously that it will be making a mistake, you don’t make the mistake. Because you know ‘what is’ you can help others.

People who don’t know ‘what is’ can’t help others. Because people who couldn’t enlighten are moved by the activity of the karma inside them, it’s difficult for them to recognize ‘what is’

But a person who has enlightened can see ‘what is’ and they match ‘what is’ so they live with ease. In this way, a person with great enlightenment isn’t acting according to their karma, but they see ‘what is’ and behave in accordance with ‘what is’

Life is the way that trains oneself, and enlightenment is certainly something you need for a good life.
